Had remote location away from the township. What's more, it was next to the town centre, and public transport is virtually non-existent.

The staff are excellent, we loved them. The room is well-organised with a great view, a microwave oven plus a kitchen table. The outdoor restaurant is outdoor place to hang out. This is like the best place to stay in Franz Josef.
The room is kind of cold.

Everything was simply very comfortable. Location: the hotel was not far from the main township, public transport is virtually non-existent and activities and food options. Besides, it was 5 min drive to Hukawai Lodge Art Gallery...

The location was amazing, surrounded by stunning mountains and a peaceful atmosphere. The staff was exceptional, especially the friendly and helpful female staff member who welcomed me with a warm smile and a refreshing welcome drink. The room was spacious and fully equipped with all the amenities I needed, including ironing facilities, tea and coffee-making facilities, and a flat-screen TV. Additionally, I loved the sun terrace, where I could relax and enjoy the breathtaking views while reading a book.
I highly recommend this place to everyone.

We got great value for our money at Franz Alpine Retreat. The room was modern, spacious, and warm, with comfortable beds and all the amenities we needed. The location was ideal, just a short drive from the Franz Josef Glacier centre and within walking distance of the glacier itself. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and provided us with helpful information about the area.
The only thing that could have made breakfast better was if there were more options available.
